Richard Hardiman, CEO of Ran Marine, invented the WasteShark, an autonomous water-cleaning robot. Inspired by a whale shark’s wide mouth, the WasteShark scoops up pollution from the surface of the water. The WasteShark is battery-powered and travels up to 5km on one battery, collecting up to 500 kg of debris per day. It also collects water quality data, which Ran Marine uses to track the effectiveness of the WasteShark and the overall health of the environment.
The WasteShark has been deployed in several locations around the world, including London’s Canary Wharf and the canals of Amsterdam. It has been shown to be an effective way to clean up water pollution, and Ran Marine plans to deploy more WasteSharks in the future.
The WasteShark is a positive development for the environment. It is an innovative and effective way to clean up water pollution, and it has the potential to make a significant impact on the health of our planet.
